University Polo allows players to play safely within their “comfort zone” and as such caters for
Beginners (for players only starting polo that academic year), Novices (limited to a maximum of a -2
outdoor Handicap) up to Open level for the better players and to SAPA for Alumni of all levels.
SUPA’s University programme is the first time that players of all abilities and social background can
play Polo without constraints in a protected and cost managed organisation.
The use of top umpires from the world of Arena Polo and a rigid safety programme, will ensure a
Fun but hard fought tournament from start to finish in all sections.
University Polo is the only association to cover all players with personal accident insurance, for
which Lycett’s need congratulating on making this affordable to SUPA.
New sponsors of University Polo, Akuma are looking forward to their first tournament and will try to
assist all students in their wish to look good as well as play hard.
Bristol University Polo Club will again be hosting the Official Players Party on Saturday 20th, and like
last year will feature an arena full of inflatables for over 600 students.
For statistics there will be over 100 teams comprising about 375 players, over 200 match chukkas and almost 40 hours of polo. Over 30 Universities from Aberdeen to Exeter and Dublin to London will be represented. On the Friday play will start at 10.00 and will run with a chukka every 10 minutes until 21.00.
